#RamadanTips – Episode 6: Calling Out To Allah
Having a conversation with Allah SWT is the greatest blessing! And how do you converse with Allah The Merciful? You make Dua!
Dua is a dialogue with Allah SWT; it’s the essence of ibadah, the believer’s most persuasive weapon. It can change fate, while no action of ours ever can.
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “When anyone of you appeals to Allah for something, he should ask with determination and should not say, ‘O Allah, if You wish, give me,’ for nobody can force Allah to do something against His Will anyway.”
With all the suffering and disasters we face, a question arises – are we abstaining from the one thing that can help us?
Do we forget to make Dua? No, but our ideas and practices regarding dua have become distorted. Often it is reduced to the level of a ritual. It is treated as an act of last resort. It is belittled through actions and sometimes even with words. Is it no wonder that today’s mention of dua is meant to indicate a situation’s hopelessness.
As Naima Robert rightly said – Expecting good from Allah SWT is a powerful mindset! And to maintain that mindset, one should make it a habit to make dua at all times, not just during times of distress.
💎 Ask Allah for all of your needs. Those related to this world as well as those related to the Hereafter.
💎 Make dua for your loved ones (parent, spouse, child) – The Messenger of Allah PBUH said, “No Muslim servant supplicates for his brother behind his back but that the angel says: And for you the same.”
💎 Make dua for the deceased – May Allah SWT has mercy on our loved ones that have passed and reunite us with them in Jannah, Ameen.
And make sure to memorize the one Dua that can answer every prayer that removes every hardship – the dua of Prophet Younus,
✨ “لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ” – There is no God but You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers. The Messenger of Allah PBUH said, “No believer will call upon Allah with that prayer except that Allah will answer his prayers.”
Remember us in your duas!
